Choose Learning Topic

Select a learning topic for your game.
1. Big subject area: Bullying
2. One really important thing I learned to do in this subject is: That bullying is bad.
3. Other people should learn how to: Stick up for people that are getting bullied
4. I would teach them how to do this by: Making a game about not bullying.
5. Summary of my narrow game topic in five words or less: That you should never bully anybody no matter what.
Do a search and complete these questions about at least one source you think is very useful for your topic.
  • Name of the website: Bullying- Wikipedia
  • Link to website: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiBullying
  • Author of resources you are using (could be whole site or just an article or photo): Diego Grez
  • Date the resource was made (if known):
  • Date you found it: 11/20/12
  • Fact 1: There are a lot of people getting bullied every day.
  • Fact 2: The person getting bullied is sometimes called a "Target."

  • Fact 4: There are a lot of types of bullying, Cyber bullying, Gay Bullying, Military Bullying, School Bullying, Prison Bullying, and Sexual Bullying.
  • Fact 5: Some people kill themselves for getting bullied.

                                           3. Identify Important things to Find
1. What categories of objects from your topic could be hidden in a scene? Like behind trees and students who are motivating them to fight.
2. What kind of scene would you hide these objects in? Outside cause that's usually were people get bullied at.

4. Give Players a Quest
Choose one of these three rules to use in your hidden object game, to create a quest with learning value:
Rule 1: Find objects that don't belong in the scene
Rule 2: Find objects that fit a specific category or criteria: I'll chose this one
Rule 3: Find hidden text or numbers instead of objects

What kind of game will I make?

1. What does it mean to have a 'single story' about a place or community?  It means that your telling your own side of the story.
2. Describe a single story you have heard told about your community. What is missing from that story? How could people learn more about that community? I have heard that my community is a good one, it is very clean and quiet. People can learn that there are no gangs and no shootings.
3. Describe a single story you have heard about another community. How did you learn that story? How could you find out more about that community?
4. How could a game let players experience many stories about a place or community? By having information after they finish a level, like facts about the community.

  • Name of the game: Kitty Math
  • What were you looking for? Kittens
  • Was the game fun to play? Explain why. It was boring but i liked the background music.
  • How does the designer reward you and keep you playing? It doesn't reward you it just says " You saved the kittens."
  • What does this game teach you? To save kittens.
  • How does it use hidden objects to teach you? It doesn't.

Plan Game Scene

The vision for my game is to teach people to not bully each other, because its not right to bully.

Cyber bullying is something that happens everyday, all over the world. People hurt, injure and kill them self from getting bullied. People try to make new friends online, until the people see the posts on their timeline and start adding on the rude comments. People sometimes stop the bullying by sticking up for the person that is getting bullied. But that rarely happens, cause some people just add up to the attention. A lot of people kill them self for getting bullied. Sometimes it stops quickly cause they tell right away, but others let it continue until it gets really worse. They harm themselves in many ways, but a lot of people just ignore it, thats the right thing to do. Bullying is all across the world its getting worse everyday. People get bullied in real life, in the internet or they get other people to do it for them. But some people don't let themselves get bullied, they fight back and thats how sometimes the bullying stops. Sometimes the bully tries to act all cool, and starts harassing the victim. But when the victim fights back the bully stops bullying them or gets more people to jump in, or they get other people to bully the victim. People who are so called " Popular" bully the "nerds" or the "geeks."
